What's Bio Age?
Bio Age (Biological Age) is your body's "true age." It represents your body's biological age based on your health data.
It reflects your current physical condition is younger or older than your chronological age. Unlike the chronological age, your bio age is not static and can improve with lifestyle changes.
Please note that Bio Age is a reference metric and is not intended for medical diagnosis.
How to Enable the Bio Age Feature?
Both Runmefit products support the Bio Age feature.
You will see the "Bio Age" card on Runmefit App Home screen. Tap "Bio Age" and follow the on-screen instructions to unlock your Bio Age feature.
This card is displayed by default. If you don’t want to see the Bio Age card for now, tap "Edit" on the Home screen, find "Bio Age", and tap the "-" icon to hide it. To enable it again, enter "Edit" mode and tap the "+" icon.
Calibrate Your Baseline Data
Before using the Bio Age feature for the first time, please calibrate your baseline data to ensure more accurate calculation results.
The following data is required: Gender, Age, Height and Weight.
If you need to modify your profile details later, go to Runmefit App > "My" > Profile Picture to make changes.
The 9 Factors That Determine Your Bio Age
Runmefit App calculates your bio age using nine factors. Understanding how each factor influences your score can help you optimize your wellness routine:
-
Sleep Duration
Adequate sleep is essential for cellular repair and hormonal balance. Both insufficient and excessive sleep can negatively impact your health. Maintaining a consistent, optimal sleep window is highly recommended. -
Stress Levels
Chronic mental stress accelerates biological aging. Keeping your mind at ease and managing daily stress effectively helps preserve your body's youthful function. -
Sleep Consistency
A predictable sleep routine stabilizes your internal biological clock. Going to bed and waking up at the same time each day enhances natural recovery, while irregular schedules can lead to a decline in physical wellbeing. -
Aerobic Exercise
Regular cardiovascular workouts help maintain organ health. Engaging in aerobic activities like brisk walking, cycling, or jogging strengthens cardiorespiratory function and slows age-related decline. -
MET (Metabolic Equivalents)
METs serve as the standard metric for measuring exercise intensity, with higher values representing more vigorous physical activity. Sustaining an adequate level of moderate-to-vigorous activity promotes a healthy metabolism. -
Resting Heart Rate
Your resting heart rate is a key indicator of cardiovascular fitness. A lower, stable resting heart rate while awake and at rest generally reflects a stronger heart muscle and superior cardiorespiratory fitness. -
Daily Steps
Walking is one of the most accessible ways to improve long-term health. A daily target of 6,000 to 10,000 steps is recommended for most adults. This recommendation will change dynamically as you make progress toward your goals. -
MAI (Multi-dimensional Activity Indicator)
The MAI score provides a comprehensive overview of your physical vitality. Calculated by cross-analyzing sleep quality, workout performance, and overall physical state. A higher MAI means better overall recovery and physical vitality.
For more information, please see What Is MAI and How Does It Work?
-
Caloric Balance
A balanced metabolism relies on proper caloric management. A prolonged imbalance between calorie intake and expenditure places undue strain on the body. Keeping your caloric budget balanced is essential for maintaining a stable bio age.
How Your Bio Age Is Calculated
To ensure your Bio Age accurately reflects your long-term health trends, the app utilizes a 7-day moving average smoothing algorithm.
This calculation prevents single-day anomalies—such as an occasional late night or a sudden, isolated high-intensity workout—from distorting your overall metrics. Instead of relying solely on your current day's performance, the app evaluates your comprehensive data over the past 7 consecutive days across nine core health indicators to determine your daily Bio Age.
Update Frequency of Bio Age
Your Bio Age is updated once a day. The system automatically refreshes the metric overnight based on the health data from the past 7 days.
It is recommended to wear your watch or fitness tracker consistently and open the app at least once a day to sync your data.
Understanding Your Bio Age Metrics
Status Colors
The Bio Age page uses three colors to show your current physical condition:
- Orange: Your bio age is higher than your actual age, which may indicate that your current physical condition is below the average level for your age group. Consider improving your exercise, sleep, and daily habits.
- Blue: Your bio age is close to your actual age, indicating a normal physical condition for your age group.
- Green: Your bio age is lower than your actual age, indicating that your current physical condition is better than the average level for your age group.
Key Metrics
-
Bio Age
An estimated physiological age calculated by an algorithm based on your health data.
-
Bio Age DiffShows the difference between your current bio age and your previous result. For example:
- ↑ 0.6 yrs means your bio age increased by 0.6 years compared with the previous result.
- ↓ 0.6 yrs means your bio age decreased by 0.6 years.
-
Aging SpeedAging Speed measures the rate at which your Bio Age changes relative to your chronological age, reflecting how your internal physiological functions evolve over time.Aging Speed uses 1.0x as the baseline, representing the normal rate of change based on your actual age. A lower value indicates slower changes in bio age and a younger overall physical condition.
- 0.5x–1.0x: Aging slower than normal. Your Bio Age is changing more slowly compared with your chronological age.
- 1.0x: Normal aging rate. Maintaining your biological age.
- 1.0x–1.5x: Aging faster than normal. This also shows you where to focus for the biggest gains. Please focus on improving key metrics.

How to Improve Your Bio Age
If your bio age is higher than your actual age, there is no need for concern. Bio age can change over time as your lifestyle habits improve. The following habits may help improve your bio age and support a healthier aging process.
-
Prioritize Sleep Quality
Aim for 7-8 hours consistently. Both too little and too much sleep negatively impact your bio age.
-
Move Throughout the Day
Daily activities such as taking the stairs, walking more, and reducing prolonged sitting can help support a healthy metabolism.
-
Build Your VO₂ Max
Add 2-3 cardio sessions per week with varying intensities. Even brisk walking helps.
- Manage Stress
Try relaxation such as deep breathing, meditation, or stretching to help reduce mental stress.
You can also take the next step with "AI Insights" feature on the Bio Age page. It provides personalized recommendations based on your health data and historical trends.

Troubleshooting
Why has my Bio Age not updated for a long time?
An un-updated Bio Age is typically caused by missing data, inconsistent device wear, or sync issues. Please try the following steps:
- If your watch or fitness tracker is worn too loosely, the sensors cannot accurately capture data. Please wear your watch or fitness tracker about one finger-width above your wrist bone, ensuring the sensor remains snug against your skin. Consistent, long-term wear is recommended.
- Make sure your watch or fitness tracker is connected to the Runmefit App via Bluetooth. You can manually swipe down on the app's Home screen to force a data sync. If the sync fails, try reconnect in the App.
- If your sleep, activity levels, and mental well-being have remained stable recently, your Bio Age score will plateau. This is normal.
Why doesn’t my Bio Age align with how I feel?
- Basic profile details such as height and age are critical inputs for the algorithm's calculation. Incorrect information will affect the accuracy of your bio age. Go to Runmefit App > "My" > Avatar to review and update your personal details.
- Inconsistent wearing habits result in missing core data for sleep, activity, and heart rate, which prevents the score from objectively reflecting your actual state. For better results, try to wear your watch or fitness tracker as consistently as possible.
- Bio Age is a wellness reference metric calculated using data models. It is not designed to perfectly match personal subjective feelings, nor should it be used for medical assessment or diagnosis.
