An electrocardiogram (ECG or EKG) records your heart's electrical activity and shows your heart rate and rhythm during the measurement.
ECG test is available only on supported Runmefit products, including:
Model Number: GTS20
How to Take an ECG
- For more stable results, wear the watch on your left wrist, about one finger-width above the wrist bone. Make sure the sensors are in contact with your skin.
- Keep your wrist and the sensors on the back of the watch dry.
- Sit quietly with your arm flat on a table. Avoid talking, walking, or moving during the measurement.
Start ECG
- Open the ECG app on your watch.
- Gently place your finger on the ECG button for about 30 seconds. Do not lift your finger until the measurement is complete.
How to Read ECG Results
After a successfully taking, you'll see one of the following type of results on your watch and App.
⚠️ Regardless of the result, if you feel unwell or experience any symptoms, you should seek medical attention.
Sinus Rhythm
A Sinus Rhythm result generally means your ECG readings are within the normal range and your heart is beating at a regular rate, typically between 50 and 100 beats per minute. This occurs when the upper and lower chambers of your heart beat in sync.
However, this result only reflects your heart rhythm at the time you took the ECG. It does not mean your heart rhythm is always regular. It also does not mean you're healthy.
Inconclusive
Inconclusive means the ECG could not be classified. This may happen for several reasons, including:
- You moved your body or arm significantly, talked, or coughed while taking the ECG.
- The sensors on the back of the watch were not in close contact with your skin.
- Your skin was wet or sweaty.
- You did not keep your finger in steady contact with the ECG button.
- You have a pacemaker or an implantable cardioverter-defibrillator (ICD).
- You were too close to devices that generate strong electromagnetic fields, such as a microwave oven or induction cooktop, or you were in an area with many charging cables.
- The ECG waveform may show signs of another heart rhythm abnormality or heart condition that the App and watch cannot identify.
Please try taking again. If you continue to get this result, or if you experience any discomfort or symptoms, you should talk to your doctor.
Needs Attention
Needs Attention means your ECG result show signs of possible atrial fibrillation (AFib).
AFib is one of the most common forms of arrhythmia. However, this result does not mean that you have AFib, and it should not be considered a medical diagnosis.
If you feel unwell or experience any symptoms, please consult a doctor and seek further medical evaluation.

FAQ
Why can't I take an ECG?
If you’re unable to take an ECG, please make sure that:
- Keep your wrist and the watch sensors dry.
- Wear the watch on your left wrist, about one finger-width above the wrist bone.
- Keep your finger on the ECG button until the measurement is complete.
- Sit quietly with your arm flat on a table. Avoid talking or moving.
What should I do if the result shows "Needs Attention" or "Inconclusive"?
Try taking again using the recommended measurement method.
If the result continues to show "Needs Attention" or remains inconclusive, save the ECG record and consult a healthcare professional. If you feel unwell, seek medical help immediately.
Why is my ECG waveform upside down?
The direction of the ECG waveform may vary depending on which wrist you wear the watch on. We recommend wearing the watch on your left wrist and taking again using the correct position and posture.
Can I walk during ECG measurement?
No. Walking, talking, or other movements may affect the ECG signal, causing the measurement to fail or produce an inconclusive result.
Can ECG be monitored continuously?
No. The GTS20 does not support automatic and continuous ECG monitoring. An ECG record is created only after you manually complete a measurement.
Why is my ECG result different from other devices?
ECG results may vary between devices due to differences in sensors, electrodes, and algorithms. Your wrist position, posture, measurement time, and physical condition may also affect the result.
An ECG is a short-term measurement and does not reflect your heart activity throughout the day.
Can ECG detect heart disease or prevent heart attack?
No. This feature cannot detect or prevent heart attack or any heart diseases. ECG results are for health reference only. They do not mean or replace professional medical evaluation, nor be used to diagnose or treat a medical condition.
