How to Fix Runmefit App Not Opening or Bluetooth Disconnects

  • Updated

To ensure your Runmefit watch or fitness tracker maintains a stable Bluetooth connection for real-time data sync, notifications, and other features, the Runmefit App must remain active in the background.

Power-saving features on different phone systems may automatically restrict background activity, which can cause disconnection or delayed notifications.

Settings

iOS

  1. Enable Background Activity

Go to Phone "Settings" > "General" > "Background App Refresh". Set the top preference to "Wi-Fi & Cellular Data". Find "Runmefit" in the app list and turn on the toggle.

  2. Enable Bluetooth & Location Access

Ensure Bluetooth is enabled and location permission is set to “Always” for accurate connection and activity tracking.

  3. Disable Low Power Mode

Low Power Mode may pause background activity. Please go to "Settings" > "Battery" and turn off "Low Power Mode".

  4. Keep the App Running in Background
Do not swipe the app away in the App Switcher. Force-closing the app will completely stop background Bluetooth syncing and notification.

FAQ

What should I do if Bluetooth disconnects after setup?

Please ensure that your device battery is above 20%, you are in a stable network environment, and all notifications permissions are enabled. Then follow the troubleshooting steps below to resolve most Bluetooth disconnection issues.

iOS

  1. Go to "Settings" > "Bluetooth". Find your fitness tracker or watch under the "My Devices", and tap the icon next to it, tap "Forget This Device”. Restart your iPhone, then open the Runmefit app to to reconnect and pair your fitness tracker or watch.
  2. After successful pairing, go back to "Settings" > "Bluetooth" again, tap the ⓘ icon again, and ensure "Share System Notifications" is turned ON. If this is disabled, you will not receive messages or notifications when your phone is locked.
  3. Disconnect other previously paired devices (such as iPads, old phones, car Bluetooth system) to avoid interference.

Android

  1. Turn off Bluetooth on your phone, wait about 10 seconds, then turn it back on. Check whether the fitness tracker or watch reconnects automatically within 1 minute.
  2. Unpair your fitness tracker or watch and re-connect it in the Runmefit app.
  3. If multiple Bluetooth devices are connected (such as earbuds or car audio systems), clearing the Bluetooth cache may help resolve system conflicts.
  • Important: This will reset Bluetooth settings on your phone and remove all saved Bluetooth devices. You will need to pair them again afterward.
  • Go to "Settings" > Search "Bluetooth" > "Storage & cache" > "Clear storage & cache" .
  1. After completing the steps above, restart your phone. Then open the app and reconnect your fitness tracker or watch.

What should I do if the app still crashes or freezes?

  • Check storage and memory: Make sure your phone has at least 10% free storage. Low storage may cause the app to close.
  • Clear cache (Android): Long press the “Runmefit” app icon > tap App info > "Storage" > "Clear cache" (do NOT select “Clear data”).
  • Restart app (iOS): Swipe up and hold to open the app switcher, swipe up to close the Runmefit App, then reopen it.
  • Update or reinstall: Update the app via App Store or Google Play, or reinstall if needed.
  • Still not working: Please contact us at feedback@runmefit.com and provide your phone model, system version, and a screen recording of the issue.

Why can I still receive calls but not notifications after closing the app?

This is due to how your phone handles system and app notifications differently.

Once your fitness tracker or watch is paired, it can still receive system alerts (calls, alarms, reminders) even when the Runmefit App is closed.

For third-party apps (e.g., WhatsApp, LINE, and email), the Runmefit App must stay running in the background to deliver notifications to your fitness tracker or watch.
