Why does the step count on my watch or fitness tracker differ?

  • Updated

The  watch or fitness tracker calculates steps based on an accelerometer. Therefore, the accuracy of step count depends on walking posture, walking habits, speed, continuity, terrain, arm swing amplitude, and frequency.

  • Please make sure that you've correctly filled in gender, height, weight, age, and other factors that affect the step-counting algorithm in the "Runmefit" App, and synchronize all information to the device.

Please refer to "How do I update my height/weight and other personal information?

  • In daily life, prolonged or rhythmic swinging of the arm or body might lead the device to misjudge that you're walking, resulting in a deviation in the number of steps.
  • If you only take a few steps and do not continue walking, the device might not record that step data.
  • Since the  watch or fitness tracker doesn't support GPS function, there may also be some differences in the number of steps in the exercise mode.
