For notifications to be successfully delivered to the watch, the following four conditions must be met:
1. Bluetooth: The phone and watch or fitness tracker are successfully connected.
2. Permissions: Notification permissions must be enabled on phone system, Runmefit App, and related Apps such as SMS or email.
3. Background Activity: Runmefit App remains active in the phone’s background and is not be closed by the system.
To ensure continuous and stable notification syncing, it is recommended to open the Runmefit App at least once per day.
4. Do Not Disturb Status: Neither the phone nor the watch or fitness tracker has “Do Not Disturb” mode enabled.
If the watch or fitness tracker cannot receive notifications or messages, please check the following four points in order:
1. Confirm Connection
- Go to Phone Settings > Bluetooth and check if “Connected” is displayed next to the watch or fitness tracker name.
- If not connected: Tap the "i" icon next to the watch or fitness tracker name in the list, select Forget This Device, then reopen the Runmefit App and re-pair device.
2. Enable Permissions
App Settings
- Open the Runmefit App, go to Devices > Notifications, confirm the main Notifications toggle is on, and select the Apps you want notifications from (e.g., Email, SMS).
Phone System Settings
iPhone
- Go to Settings > Apps > Runmefit > Notifications
- Enable Allow Notifications, and turn on Lock Screen, Notification Center, and Banners
- Enable Background App Refresh
Android
*We will use Samsung as example, if you are using another brand Android phone, the settings are similar.
- Go to Settings> Apps > Runmefit
- Tap Notifications: Enable Allow Notifications and Sound & Vibration; also enable Lock screen, App icon badge, and Notifications pop-up
- Tap Battery, and set Runmefit App to Unrestricted
General Android Tip:
- Go to Settings > Search for Battery Optimization or Background Restrictions, locate the Runmefit App, and set it to Not Optimized or Allow Background Activity
Related App Settings
(Example: Messages App)
- Go to Settings > Apps > Messages > Notifications, and enable Allow Notifications and Alerts
3. Disable All “Do Not Disturb” Modes
- On the Watch or Fitness tracker: Press the crown to open the menu, go to Settings > Do Not Disturb, and ensure it is turned off.
- On the Phone: Confirm Do Not Disturb or Focus Mode is disabled.
4. Restart and Reconnect
- If notifications are still not received after verifying the above settings, restart your phone.
- Then, in your phone’s Bluetooth settings, tap the name of your watch or fitness tracker, select the “i” icon on the right, and choose “Unpair” or “Forget This Device”.
